The demands on PhD Students do increase with the complexity of the research topics. The PhD Course "Advanced Structural and Wind Engineering" will provide the chance to easier approach the increasing demands and challenges in research.
The PHD training course will bundle resources and expertise’s to impart knowledge in a very comprehensive and goal oriented way.
Beside the knowledge transfer, the participating PhD students will have the opportunity to discuss their research topics with international experts from different areas as well as other researchers which allows them to create their own networks and to identify new ideas and topics for their future career.
The course trains PhD students in the field of application of advanced computational design techniques in the civil engineering design. In the course several advanced design methods will be presented, which are partly supported by computer simulations and on-site measurements or laboratory tests. The students after the course shall be
able to apply advanced design methods, to evaluate large measurement databases and apply them in the design praxis. Additionally, the participating students will be
encouraged to increase their personal competencies and transversal skills.
