NHRE | Special Project Exchange and Introduction

The aim of the Special project (6 - PV25 or 12 CP - PV23, winter semester) of the master course NHRE is to demonstrate the student’s ability to apply methods commonly used in their professional field to recognize a problem, evaluate it in a reflective, analytical-critical manner, and come up with ways of solving it within a limited period of time.

The content is to deal with special problems derived from demanding engineering tasks in the areas of planning, construction and realization of structures under specific conditions, integrating research and practical applications; site- or structure-specific risk analysis using modern tools to estimate the threat of natural hazards; contributions to modelling, simulation and application of performance-based design, including field work and laboratory investigation, engineering-related topics with focus on the support by natural sciences, social sciences and economics; derived from ongoing planned projects at both regional and global level, sub-tasks reflect the reached progress in training of the general course content.
